It is a people-centered  unit set up at the level of Panchayat and gram sabha to promote and strengthen good and transparent governance and development through dissemination of development related information. It is a set up to articulate  people’s needs at grass root level and to familiarize people with the developmental opportunities and programmes. It is a centre of information and materials dissemination as well as individual counseling and group interaction for the poor section of society. It works as a facilitator between the Panchayat Raj System and the people to facilitate two-way information dissemination.
